Now Open! IHR and Portsmouth collaboration with the Making History collection

 -

A reminder that a team of researchers from the University of Portsmouth is working on a project investigating preferences for digital culture and heritage, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. The researchers would like to invite you to participate in a paid study relating to a unique digital resource, the IHR's ‘Making History’, which is not currently available anywhere else. The study will run online throughout June and July 2026 and should take around 15 minutes to complete.

'Making History' contains a series of recorded interviews that trace the development of history as a discipline over the past century and more. These interviews present the views of eminent historians on the evolution of the discipline from the perspective of their own fields and interests. They focus on changes in the practice and profession of history, as well as on the rise and decline of different methods and approaches over each historian’s lifetime.

Participants will have the opportunity to access the ‘Making History’ resource and will also receive a minimum monetary payment of £10, with the potential to earn an additional payment. If you would be willing to participate, please visit
